Hunger Games

If you haven't heard of the Hunger Games you are living under a rock.  The first book of the trilogy by Suzanne Collins has swept the nation since it's movie release in March.  Although the movie was a fantastic film, the books are a must read.  The books were not something I thought I would be interested in, but 20 pages in, I couldn't stop reading.  The books are easy to read and are so different from other books.  The book takes place in future America, there are twelve districts, and each year as a reminder that these districts are controlled by the Capital, they have a reaping.  The reaping chooses one boy and one girl from each district from the ages 12-18 to go into an arena and fight to the death.  The book is gripping and heartwarming at the same time.  These books are worth reading.

  1. I don’t usually read but when I heard about the Hunger Games and how intriguing they were, I had to find out for myself. I also didn’t think I would be interested in this type of book because of the bizarre concept involving violence and death among teenagers but I ended up loving it.
