The Last Lecture

The Last Lecture by

The Lovely Bones

I honestly do not think made up characters have ever made me cry more than I did in the Lovely Bones.  The book was a beautiful story.  I read it in one day, I could not put it down for more than ten minutes.  I was blubbering like a baby.  I still haven't seen the movie, I honestly don't remember if it got good reviews.  I highly recommend this book for anyone it is such a moving story and will have you in tears.

Forget You

Forget You by Jennifer Echols was such a great book.  The book was requested to me to read by my kindle and I loved it!  It was a lot like Sarah Dessen's book which is why I enjoyed it so much.  It is about a girl who gets into a car accident and can't remember anything that happened the night before.  It was so interesting and it is a perfect read if your going down the shore memioral day weekend or if your staying home!

The Time Traveler's Wife

I read the The Time Traveler's Wife by

Pretty Little Liars

Pretty Little Liars is one of the best book series I have ever read.  The books are so intense and scary you literally cannot put them down.  I cannot even begin to explain how different the books are from the telivison show.  I highly reccomend the books they are a lot better than the show.  I watched the first episode of the show and was not impressed.  The books are wild and really a must read!

If I Stay

If I Stay was an amazing book.  It was recommened to me by my teacher in my freshmen year and I loved it.  I love reading in the car and I read it for a two hour car ride down the shore and finished it.  It was about a girl in a coma and her family trying to wake her up.  It made my cry and made me feel happy, just such a good book!

50 Shades of Grey

If you haven't heard of 50 Shades of Grey you have been living under a rock.  I haven't read the book yet and frankly I don't know if I want to.  I don't think that would be something I am interested in, but I said the same thing about the Hunger Games and loved it.  Maybe I'll get around to it over the summer.  The book has caused a lot of controversy and is rumored to be very scandalous.

Summer Reading

Summer reading for school is usually the down fall of the summer. It's annoying, tedious, and no one really wants to do it. The idea of summer reading can change with a good choice of books. Going into my sophomore year I had a list of books I could choose from. I chose the Glass Castle byJeannette Walls. I did not really know what the book would be about, but half my name was in the title and all the other books seemed boring to me. The book was amazing. I literally could not put it down. The story is a memoir of Wall's life. Her childhood was very different from a normal one. It tells the stories of her family’s struggles and how the dealt with getting by.

Miss. bindergarten gets ready for kindergarten

This weekend I was playing with my little cousin and one of them asked me, "what is your favorite children’s' book?' I put a lot of thought into my answer, considering there are so many. I thought of the book I read before the first day of kindergarten. Miss Bindergarten gets ready for kindergarten by  is the cutest book I have ever read. I was in love with this book when I was little. Everything rhymed and it followed every animal in the class getting ready for the first day of school. If you have little cousins, siblings or nieces and nephews, order this book off Amazon!

The A-list

I started reading the A-list series by Zoey Deen in seventh grade when they first came out and I loved them. There are ten books in the series and I realized that I have one left to read. I vaguely remember what happened in the ninth book but Deen usually refreshes the reader on what happened in previous books. I can't go on not knowing how it all ends for my once loved characters so I will be reading soon. It will be a good book to read on the beach. It is a short book and a very easy read. If you have not read any A-list books I recommend them. They are fun and interesting and give you an idea of what it is like to live on the overly glamorous side of Hollywood.

Dreamland

Another book that is on my to read list is Dreamland.  The book is by my favorite author, Sarah Dessen.  The book is about a girl being abused by her boyfriend.  Dessen's books are usually high-spirited so I am interested to see how she will take on heavier situations.  After this book I will have read all of her books.  I hope she is writing more!

Just Listen

Just Listen is a book by Sarah Dessen.  Dessen is my favorite author and I really enjoyed this book.  It was easy to read and had a twist at the ending so it was not too predictable.  It tells a story of a girl who lost all of her friends in just one night.

The Help

The next book that I really want to read is the Help by .  The book has been made into a movie which I have heard good things about but I can't let myself see the movie without reading the book first.  The book is 451 pages and tells the story of three different women.  I will buy the book on my kindle tonight!

The Lucky One

Recently, Nicolas Sparks' book the Lucky One has came out into theathers.  Instead of racing to see Zac Efron, read the book first.  I read the book about a year ago and really enjoyed it.  It was a tpyical Nicolas Sparks book, I felt sad, happy, and excited all in one chapter.  But it is a very easy read and the characters are very likeable.

Along For the Ride

Sarah Dessen is one of my favortie authors, unlike Nicholas Sparks, all of her books are different.  Her books are interesting and easy to read.  Along for the Ride was my first book I read of hers and one of my favorites.  The book is about summer but it is not your average summer story.  You'll have to read and find out!
Enjoy!

Hunger Games

If you haven't heard of the Hunger Games you are living under a rock.  The first book of the trilogy by Suzanne Collins has swept the nation since it's movie release in March.  Although the movie was a fantastic film, the books are a must read.  The books were not something I thought I would be interested in, but 20 pages in, I couldn't stop reading.  The books are easy to read and are so different from other books.  The book takes place in future America, there are twelve districts, and each year as a reminder that these districts are controlled by the Capital, they have a reaping.  The reaping chooses one boy and one girl from each district from the ages 12-18 to go into an arena and fight to the death.  The book is gripping and heartwarming at the same time.  These books are worth reading.

What We're About

This blog is going to be about different books.  Not boring, uneventful books, but interesting books that will have you wanting to read more.
